FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about replay recording, data sources, and privacy on SF6 Stats.

Recording and replays

Does my replay get saved?
Yes. Once a capture request finishes, the video is stored on the server and attached to that match in your history. You can close the tab while it records. The replay stays queued and saved even if you leave.
How long are replays kept?
One week (168 hours) after the capture finishes. The exact expiry time is shown next to every finished video. Download the MP4 if you want to keep it past that. Old videos are deleted automatically to make room for new ones; when storage is full, the oldest ready video is removed first.
How long does a capture take?
The recording itself takes about as long as the match plus loading, usually two to four minutes. If other captures are ahead of yours, add a few minutes per queued replay. The status display shows your queue position and what the capture PC is doing right now.
Can I watch while it records?
Yes. When recording starts you get a live stream of the match inside the capture panel. It stays up during processing, then swaps to the finished MP4.
Why did my capture fail?
Most failures mean Capcom removed the replay from their servers, or the replay ID is older than what the game supports. Failed captures show a Try again button. If a failure repeats for the same replay, the replay is probably gone on Capcom's side and no tool can recover it.
Who can see my replays?
Anyone with the link can watch a captured replay, and captured matches may appear in the Guess the Rank mini-game with names hidden. Your CFN name and personal data are never shown there. Don't want a replay captured? Simply don't press Capture.

Data and privacy

Where does the MR data come from?
From Capcom's Buckler service, the same source as the in-game profile. Match history comes from Battle Log data. For some players an extra MR history source is merged in so charts reach further back. The data page lists the details.
How often do stats update?
A player's profile refreshes when someone opens it, subject to a short cooldown. The chip at the top of each profile shows how long ago that happened. Matches sync during profile updates; ranked rating history builds up over time as games are stored.
Is my match history public?
Yes, if you search yourself or someone else searches you, the profile is public. This is the same information Capcom already shows on Buckler. There is no account system and nothing is posted anywhere by the site.
What are the rank tiers and LP requirements?
Rookie through Diamond use League Points with five stars per league; Master and above use Master Rating. The full table of LP floors and MR brackets is on the rank reference page.
Does this work for Modern controls players?
Yes. Control type (Classic or Modern) is shown on profiles and in match history wherever Capcom reports it.
Is SF6 Stats free? Do I need an account?
Free, no account, no login. Search a CFN name and the profile loads. The site is an independent community project and is not affiliated with Capcom.
